Sir
I am planning to buy a Canon 1000D DSLR. I want to know if the 18-55mm lens needs to be an IS (because I will often be using it indoors too - like family get-togethers - or will increasing the ISO - a 'pseudo-stabilistaion' still do the trick?) As a rule - doubling the ISO (say from 100 to 200) helps to double the shutter speed right (say from 1/100 to 1/200). Will the increased graininess be evident on a 21" screen?
Secondly, how much more important is it to have a IS on a telephoto lens?
I am an amateur and have multipurpose use for it (from home get-togethers to travels to various cities and shooting buildings, portraits in these situations) and want just 2 lenses.
